Symbiotic Existential Cosmology: Wow! And So, Might I Suggest Multidisciplinary Philosophy?

https://www.dhushara.com/cossym/SEC/#ScienceReligionAndGeneCultureCoevolution chris king 5 days ago Hi Charles, I just completed a major Symbiotic Existential Cosmology chapter on the origin and evolution of religion. https://www.dhushara.com/cossym/SEC/#ScienceReligionAndGeneCultureCoevolution It has completely different definitions and discusses current thinking about how religions evolved socially. There are a lot of things wrong with the five definitions. For example symbols is inadequate. Religious memes are conceptual no just symbols. Yes community is core to religions' existence and evolution. Spirituality is a more hairy one but is a kind of umbrella for consciousness dominant world views. But then you need to see religion in its historical context of animism and shamanism. It would be worth reading: Dunbar, Robin (2022) How Religion Evolved: And Why It Endures Pelican Chris King Like1 Charles E . Peck Jr. 5 days ago chris king It is always good to hear form you. Thanks for joining. Sounds fascinating! It looks like you get into some intricate detail! I'll try to get to that soon! thanks! Like Green Peacemst < 1 min ago Hi Chris. Looks like you´re certainly thinking about important things and putting important things together. However, I might offer the suggestion that by disregarding "symbols," I imagine you´re misunderstanding their significance. With all your important concerns and ideas, it can only be a detour or derailing aspect. Now looking a little further at your comprehensive considerations, I see your part on the nature of language, and the importance of the "tool" hypothesis of language evolution. I note you cite Deacon 1998. He was my undergrad professor, wonderful in his way, but I had found ED Chapple´s work based on Pavlov. I´d imagine the tool use hypothesis ultimately goes a long way, all told. I have seen that it is the role of personal effort in spiritual practice for personal growth that seems key, and that seems to align with the full range of psycho-social symbolic perceptions in play. Gandhi serves as the prophet figure who demonstrates key psychosocial, cultural and symbolic spiritual dynamics that are in play and need to be amplified and tweaked. Social movements, and identifying the spiritual-religious phenomenon of Jesus, and the process of legacy, have all become apparent to me as I have identified "empirical theism" as the current relevant process in play. Multidisciplinary Philosophy, then, is the framework and methodology. Your material is still bent on being "scientific," with all its strengths, but missing the key point of change. It is in our own contemplative, psychotherapeutic assessments, with philosophical scholarship with empiricism, that are needed to be operating healthily for accuracy. And that´s all spiritual practice to pursue spiritual-religious phenomena, transcendental and transpersonal, for both personal healing, awareness, and psychosocial connection and activism. Thanks for your link and the citation!
